Rob DeMartinis has been building
a career in resource development, public relations, marketing and
communications for 20 years. A highly skilled and Certified Fund
Raising Executive, he has served as a senior executive in the nonprofit
industry leading two national AAFRC member consulting firms in sales
and operations, and managing major fundraising and communications
projects for nonprofit organizations.
Over his career Rob has worked in nonprofit fields including healthcare,
human services, culture, environment, religion and education raising
over $500 million in partnership with clients. Rob’s skills include
strategic planning, campaign logistics, board training, public speaking,
and proficiency in a wide range of software applications and Internet
technology.
Mr.
DeMartinis has worked to remain on the leading edge of fundraising
through a love of technology. He is one of just 50 people in the
world to have earned the designation of ePMT or ePhilanthropy Master
Trainer for his experience and expertise in merging traditional
nonprofit operations with Internet technology. He put his first
fundraising campaign online in 1995 during the infancy of the public
use of the World Wide Web. Today he serves as a Trustee
of the ePhilanthropy Foundation,
an international nonprofit and world leader in providing education
on the ethical and efficient use of the Internet for advocacy, outreach
and fundraising. He specializes in the domain name field helping
clients to acquire and properly leverage memorable web addresses
to market brands, promote causes and generate financial support.
Rob's experience and broad expertise resulted in his selection by
the New York Times Company as the editor of one of the leading nonprofit
industry information resources, the Guide to Nonprofit Organizations
at About.com. During his tenure, more than 50,000 visitors
a month from around the world read fundraising expertise and nonprofit
management information provided by Rob and the firm through licensed
original content and web site management. About.com reaches an international
audience of more than 35 million people each month making it a top-ten
Internet destination. Mr. DeMartinis recently decided not to renew
the contract to focus instead on new initiatives of the firm.
Rob has directed and assisted in educational sessions of the Association
of Fundraising Professionals, the American Association of Fund Raising
Counsel (AAFRC), the NCDC and ICSC on topics including how to be
an industry consultant, major gift solicitation, campaign logistics,
Internet strategy for nonprofits and technology solutions for nonprofit
management. He is a member of the faculty for the Pennsylvania Bar
Association’s Nonprofit Institute and an instructor at Villanova
University teaching course material on merging traditional nonprofit
operations with Internet technologies.
Mr. DeMartinis is an officer on the Board of Directors of the Association
of Fundraising Professionals in Philadelphia, serving as a spokesperson
and representing the fundraising profession in southeastern Pennsylvania,
southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.
